Dr. Eckert completed his medical education at Indiana University School of Medicine in 1980, his internship in internal medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University in 1981, his residency in internal medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1983, his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1985, and his fellowship in gastroenterology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University in 1985.
